The House

Le Village                                                                           Rue du Chateau

Flassan 84410

The House is one of a three hundred and fifty year old terrace of houses pretentiously named Rue du Chateau. It has two rooms on each of the three floors.

Ground Floor has the bathroom, large and modernized containing a bath with a shower, WC, bidet and wash hand basin and a recently converted ‘cave’ at the rear as the second bedroom (double bed). The ‘cave’ perhaps needs a comment as some may find it claustrophobic. There is ventilation but no window. It has the original beams and ceiling and is the coolest room in the house.

First Floor has the kitchen at the front and the main bedroom at the rear (two single beds). The kitchen is the place for meals with a table that will seat eight and is equipped with a fridge, a butane gas cooker and a wood burning stove.

Top Floor has the lounge at the rear and a roof terrace at the front. The lounge contains a banquette which converts into a good size double bed to create sleeping accommodation for a total of six. The roof terrace provides a place to sit and eat either in the sun or shade and has good views to the South and West. The floors are mostly tiled, the stairs are stone, water heating and room heating electric.
